A Cadiz man wanted for questioning in connection with the death of Clarksville, Tenn., resident has been apprehended in Lyon County.
On Wednesday, Kentucky State Police troopers responded to a burglary call at Rocky Ridge RV Park in Lyon County. Troopers arrived at 1 p.m. About two hours later, they located Quintin D. Bird, 21, of Cadiz. Bird was wanted for questioning by the Clarksville Police Department in relation to a Tennessee murder. Attempts to reach the department were not immediately successful.
Once in custody, Bird was transported by Lyon County Ambulance Service to Caldwell County Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was later charged in Kentucky with second degree burglary and tampering with physical evidence.
Trooper Jody Cash said the injuries Bird received were not related to a struggle with arresting officers.
"He was treated and released for injuries he received prior to the arrest," Cash said.
Cash said the Lyon County charges stem from burglarizing the camper where he was discovered. Bird was taken to the Christian County Jail following his medical release.
The investigation is continuing by KSP and Clarksville Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
