Larry D. Oliver
Services for Larry D. Oliver will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Chestnut Oak United Methodist Church in Kuttawa, with the Revs. Chuck Ladd and Franklin Skaggs officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the church.
Mr. Oliver died Jan. 1, after a long illness. Born November 2, 1954, he was a 1972 graduate of Lyon County High School and a 1976 graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. He served as one of the original EMT's at Lyon County Ambulance Service and was a member of Lyon County Rescue Squad and Kuttawa Fire Department. He was a former coroner of Lyon County from 1978-1981 and at that time he was the youngest coroner in Kentucky. He also served as Deputy Coroner in Graves and Caldwell Counties. In 1994 he was elected President of the West Kentucky Funeral Directors Association. In 1999 he moved to the Smoky Mountain area of Tennessee, where he opened a funeral home. While in Tennessee he served as Deputy Medical Examiner in Morgan County and was a member of the Coalfield Fire Department. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tennessee.
His parents were Dow and Millerdene Oliver.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Beverley Oliver.
Survivors are: his son, Shannon Oliver of Kuttawa; a daughter, Sheena Snow of Kuttawa; two grandchildren, Gracie and Emmy Richardson; a sister, Virginia Bloomingburg of Benton; two brothers, Edward Oliver of Plainfield, Ind., and Richard Oliver of Jacksonville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Lakeland Funeral Home of Eddyville is in charge of arrangements.

Services for Garry Dwain Culver, 61, of Kuttawa, and formerly of Marshall County, were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyvlle with the Rev. Dean Ray officiating. Burial followed in White Sulphur Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Mr. Culver died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Lamasco Baptist Church in Lyon County.
His parents were Hughes Culver and Opal Williams Culver Walter.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Culver.
Survivors are: his wife, Emily Cartwright Culver; two step sons, Channing Crisp, Kuttawa, and Cameron Crisp, Eddyville; a step daughter, Carmen Crisp, Kuttawa; and a granddaughter.

Stella Oliver, 86
Services for Stella Oliver, 86, of Princeton, were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Mike Boyd officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Oliver died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at her home. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.
Her parents were Glispy and Gerthie Hart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Oliver.
Survivors are: two sons, Craig Oliver of Princeton and Mark Allen Oliver of Gainesville, Ga.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a nephew.

James Ortt, 85
Services for James Ortt, 85, of Princeton were held on Monday, Jan. 2, at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Roger Felker officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Mr. Ortt died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah. He was a retired farmer and timber cutter and member of Lafayette Baptist Church.
His parents were Archie and Alice Ally Ortt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Kenady Ortt, and two brothers, J.W. Ortt and Edwin Ortt.
Survivors are: four daughters, Brenda Kennaday, Linda Phelps, and Kathy Patterson, all of Caldwell County, and Barbara Jones of Grand Rivers; two sons, Paul Ortt and Clyde Ortt, both of Caldwell County; three sisters, Shirley McDowell of Lyon County, Murty Blick of Caldwell County and Sue Pembroke of Pines, Fla.; three brothers, Ishmel Ortt, Ronnie Ortt, and A.B. Ortt, all of Caldwell County; eight grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
