Robert Beatty McDonald, Sr., 80
Services for Robert Beatty McDonald, Sr., 80, of Eddyville, will be Wednesday, Sept. 21, (today) at 2:30 p.m. at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Steve McVay officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Old Eddyville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday also at the funeral home.
Mr. McDonald died Friday, Sept. 16, at his home. He was a member of Eddyville United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Eddyville City Council for eight years, Past Master of Joppa Lodge 162, Past Master of Parkersville Lodge 484, member of: Scottish Rite Valley of Madisonville, York Rite – Princeton, Rizpah Shrine-Madisonville, Zamora Shrine-Ironton, AL, Princeton Ham Club, American Legion and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
His parents were R.L. and Viola Beatty McDonald.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Survivors are: his wife, Dixie Welcher McDonald, Eddyville; a son, Robert B. McDonald, Jr., McDonough, Ga.; a daughter, Melodie Matter, Cypress, Texas; a brother, Richard McDonald, Colleyville, Texas; and a grandson.

Dorothy Mae Cayce, 78
Dorothy Mae Cayce, 78, of Eddyville, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, at her home in Eddyville.
Her parents were Frances and Lillian Mae LaRue Collyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Cayce, and a brother, Henry Collyer.
Survivors are: two sons, Forest Cayce of Eddyville, and Robert Bates of Ecourse, Mich.; two daughters, Sherry Keathley of Wyandotte, Mich., and Carol Smith of Eddyville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dunn's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. No service is scheduled at this time.
