Local archers and shooting sports enthusiasts placed high in state competition earlier this month.
The Lyon County 4H Shooting Sports team -- Young Guns -- traveled to Lexington Sept. 10-11, to participate in the state shooting sports competition.
Bradley Dunning, Lillian Dunning, Hunter Patterson and Sean Perry placed third in the state in archery 9-11 year old age division.
Cole Kaminski placed tenth in the state in archery in his age division, 15-18 year olds.
In shooting sports, Autumn Kammerdiener placed ninth in the state in .22 Sport Rifle.
Young Guns participating in the state competition were: Hunter Patterson, Sean Perry, Bradley Dunning, Sam Klueppel, Chase Young, Josh Wright, Klay Dunn, Autumn Kammerdiener, Gavin Young, Taylor Monceaux, Jacob Triska and Lillian Dunning.
The team is coached by Tim and Erin Waters, Kris Dunn and Brian Dunning.
The team would like to thank David and Tonya French for the use of their property.
They have graciously allowed the Lyon County 4H Shooting Sports to practice at their facility every week, as well as provided equipment and supplies.
The team wishes to express their greatest appreciation to the French's.
