Morris Denzel Baker, 64

Graveside services for Morris Denzel Baker, 64, of Princeton, were conducted May 2 at Mexico Cemetery with interment following the service. Military Rites were given. The Rev. Richard Gardner officiated.
Mr. Baker died April 30 at his home in Princeton. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Princeton, an Army veteran of the Vietnam era and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors are: two brothers, Ronnie Baker of Hartselle, Ala. and James Baker of Marion; and a sister, Brenda Holland of Calvert City.

Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph A. Choate, 61

Services for Joseph A. Choate, 61 of Kuttawa, formerly of Madisonville, were conducted May 2 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville. Interment followed at Chestnut Oak Cemetery in Lyon County with military rites at graveside. The Rev. Frank Roof officiated.
Mr. Choate died April 28 in Lourdes hospital in Paducah. He was a former correctional officer at Kentucky State Penitentiary and an Army Vietnam veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher Choate Jr. and Lucy Jacquelyn Teddar Choate.
Survivors are: his wife, Bonnie Tucker Choate and a brother, Steven T. Choate of Martin, Tenn.

Mary Jane Richardson, 54

Services for Mary Jane Richardson, 54, of Princeton were conducted May 5 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Steve McVay officiated.
Ms. Richardson died May 2 at her home following a long illness. She was born June 22, 1953 in Caldwell County.
She was precededin death by her father, Jim Richardson.
Survivors are: her mother, Mildred Smith Richardson of Princeton; a daughter, Natalie Leech of Princeton; two grandchildren; a brother, Buddy Richardson of Princeton; two sisters, Faye Calhoun of Lyon County and Carolyn Tracy of Paducah; four nephews and a niece.

Daniel Martin, Sr., 66

Services for Daniel Martin, Sr., 66, of Eddyville, were conducted May 3 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville. The Rev. Terry Rhye officiated.
Mr. Martin died April 29 at Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton. He was a retired coal miner for Mapco Coal Company in Carmi, Ill. with 15 years service.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Eugene Martin; a sister, Shirley Dean Martin, and his father, Robert Evan Martin.
Survivors are: his wife, Peggy Crowley Martin; two daughters, Arlene Martin of Eddyville and Angela Holt of Madisonville; two sons, Daniel Martin II of Carmi, Ill. and Roy Evan Martin of Eddyville; five grandchildren; his mother, Imogene Clayton Martin of Madisonville and a brother, Norman Martin of Madisonville.

Lucille Brasher, 92

Services for Lucille “Nonnie” Gray Brasher were conducted May 4 at Burns Funeral Home in Hobart, Ind. Pastor David Webb officiated with interment at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Ind.
Mrs. Brasher died on April 30. She was born Aug. 29, 1915 in Kuttawa. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hobart, and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodford Brasher; her parents, John William Elwood Gray and Rocky Lee (Soden); a son, Woodie Gray Brasher; a grandson Christopher James Zych; sisters Willie Lee Glenn and Dorothy J. Conway; and a brother, Glenwood Gray.
Survivors are: a daughter, Phyllis Zych of Portage, Ind.; asister Ella May Doom of Benton; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Virgil Travis , 65
Virgil Travis, age 65, of Benton died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Marshall
County Hospital in Benton, Ky. He attended Brewers United
Methodist Church and was the owner of Benton Auto
Salvage and Wrecker in Marshall County for 22 years. He
was the son of the late Elvin Travis and the late Gertie Henry
Travis. Survivors include his wife, Paula Beth (Creason)
Travis of Benton, two daughters; Tammy Travis of Kuttawa
and Amie Belcher and her husband Corey of Benton, two
sons; Chris Travis of Salem, Indiana and Jeff Travis of
Benton, one brother, Gordon Travis and his wife Patsy of
Eddyville, three sisters; Shirley McCallister and her husband
Carroll of Princeton, Virginia Lee and her husband Jewel
of Dycusburg, and Lucille Bingham of Hobart, In. Also
surviving are three grandchildren; Abigail Belcher, Tyler
Belcher and Madison Travis. He was preceded in death by
one sister, Barbara Epperson. Funeral service will be held at
Collier Funeral Home in Benton at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday,
May 8 with the Reverend Robert Chandler, the Reverend
Richard Dowdy and the Reverend Steve Seaford officiating.
Interment will be at Marshall County Memorial Gardens in
Benton. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m.
today (Wednesday).
