Services for Mary Sue Sherrard Whisman, 81, of Murray, are July 18 at 2 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Boyd Smith officiating. A graveside service will be held on July 19 at 1 p.m. eastern time at the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson and burial will follow.

Mrs. Whisman died July 16 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital. She was a homemaker and worked as a legal secretary. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class.

Her parents were William Marian Sherrard and Mamie Frances Smith Sherrard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie “Thomas” Whisman; a sister, Geraldine Sherrard; and by a grandchild, Leslie Aaron Whisman.

Survivors are: two daughters; Vicki Williams of Murray and Lynn Whisman Bush of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a son, Wayne Whisman of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister, Betty Lane Riley; a brother, William “Bill” Bryant Sherrard; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
