Graveside services with military rites for Verl Carr, 83, of Kuttawa, formerly of Illinois, were July 20 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in St. Francisville, Ill. with the Rev. Steve McVay officiating. There was no local service or visitation.

Mr. Carr died July 17 in Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. He was a former ranger for the federal parks system in Florida, a former owner and operator of Carr’s Auto Body Shop in Paducah, a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Saratoga United Methodist Church in Lyon County.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Carr; a step-son, David Balding and a brother, Bill Carr.

His parents were Theodore and Ella Clark Carr.

Survivors are: his wife, June Beamon Carr; two sons, Jim Carr of Lawrenceville, Ill., and David Carr of St. Joseph, Ill.; two step-daughters, Angie Smith of Gilbertsville, and Susan “Susie” Withrow of Kell, Ill.; a step-son, Greg Balding of Salem, Ill.; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Rice of Pieora, Ill. and Jannell Holycross, Jacksonville, Fla.
