Mr. and Mrs. Gary Parrent of Lyon County recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner hosted by their children.
Mr. Parrent and the former Judy Town were married April 4, 1958, by the Rev. L. J. Knoth at his home in Kuttawa. Their attendants were June Anderson Town and Paul Edward Freeman.
He is the son of the late William Louard and Gwendolyn Cariel Parrent. She is the daughter of the late Willis and Melvin Davenport Town.
They have three children: Terri Henry of Pahrump, Nevada, Wade Parrent and Elizabeth Kirk both of Lyon County; three grandchildren: Jenni Parrent, David and Mattea Kirk.
Forsythe and Minor to wed
Jill Forsythe of Eddyville announces the engagement of her daughter, Amber Nicole Forsythe, to James Christopher Minor, son of Tommy and Dixie Minor of Danville.
Miss Forsythe also is the daughter of the late Eddy Forsythe.
She is the granddaughter of Fred and Patsy Pickford of Navarre, Fla. and the late Wayne Peek of Eddyville. Paternal grandparents are Mason Forsythe and the late Bonnie Forsythe of Calvert City and Kuttawa.
The bride elect is a 2001 graduate of Lyon County High School and a 2005 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia with a bachelor of arts in communication. She is employed by the University of Kentucky.
Mr. Minor is the son of Tommy and Dixie Minor of Danville and the grandson of David and Rose Mahan of Danville and the late Wilmith Peteet.
He is a 2004 graduate of Boyle County High School in Danville and graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with a bachelor’s degree in art history. He is employed by family owned Danville Bowlarama in Danville.
The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. on May 24 at Pike residence in Danville. Invitations have been sent.
