Services for Virginia Oliver, 89, of Cadiz were Sept. 6 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Jimmy Stewart Jr. officiated and burial followed at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

She died Sept. 4 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville following a short illness.

She was a member of New Light Baptist Church, a homemaker and babysitter.

Her parents were Fount Paul “Doc” and Mary Lucy McCormick Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Denford Oliver, a daughter, Mackie Oliver, a brother, Maxie Oliver, three sisters, Iva Oliver, Lois Pennington, and Lena “Jack” Proffitt.

Survivors are: a son, Roy Randall Oliver of Ashley, Ill. two daughters, Hariette Stewart of Oak Grove and Iva Dawson of Cadiz; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
