Kevin McDonald, of Paducah, made a hole-in-one at The Cullan Golf Course at Mineral Mound State Park on Wednesday, May 18, during the weekly Senior Scramble. He made the shot on hole No. 7 with a 7 iron club for 138 yards. This is his first hole-in-one.

McDonald's recently announced in a news release that it's celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Day by offering teachers a free beverage of their choice in the drive-thru. The offer is valid from May 2-13.

According to Kentucky State Police, Kentucky State Police Post 1 was contacted on Thursday, April 28 by Lyon County High School and the Lyon County Sheriff, requesting assistance with investigating threats made against Lyon County Schools students.

Lyon County Youth Soccer is hosting its fifth annual “Ties and Tiaras” Father-Daughter dance on Saturday, May 7. The dance will take place at the Lee S. Jones Building and will begin at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

Charlie Ford of Hopkinsville got a hole-in-one at The Cullan Golf Course at Mineral Mounds State Park. The 95-yard shot was on hole 12, and Ford used a gap wedge. This was his first hole-in-one.

Lyon County Preschool and Audubon Head Start will be hosting their first screening for the 2022-2023 school year on April 15. This screening is for new incoming three and four year olds.

The Bluegrass Bass Bash, the Kentucky-Indiana tournament of the Paralyzed Veterans Association bass tour, is returning to Kuttawa. The tournament will be Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24.

The Kentucky-Barkley Lakes Board of Realtors is sponsoring an easter egg hunt at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 14. It will take place at Glenn Park on Beech Street in Kuttawa. The easter egg hunt will be in the baseball field behind city hall.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Trendz Hair Etc. in Eddyville is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1, to celebrate the official grand opening of its expanded business and services.

Registration is open for 4-H summer camp. Camp will take place June 7-10 in Dawson Springs at West Kentucky 4-H camp. Students are receiving applications in their classroom club meetings, and information and paperwork is also available at the Lyon County Extension Office.
