Two suspicious deaths in neighboring counties over the last couple of weeks remain under investigation.
The most recent was the body of a Texas woman found in Kentucky Lake.
On Saturday evening, Kentucky State Police (KSP) and officers with Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to a report of body floating in a container in Kentucky Lake near Colson Hollow. The body was recovered from the lake and an autopsy was conducted the following day at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.
Based on the autopsy, the body was identified as that of Traci L. Jones, 41 of Granbury, Texas.
Meantime, the body of a woman found in a shallow grave at a Fredonia Cemetery on June 13 has been identified as that of a South Carolina woman. Her husband is wanted for questioning in her suspected murder.
The deceased female has been identified as 36-year-old Nicole Renee Florentine of Rock Hill, South Carolina, according to state police. Her partially clothed body was found by a caretaker at Hill Cemetery off Ky. 91 between Fredonia and Princeton.
KSP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Florentine, 52, also of Rock Hill. Florentine has an arrest warrant issued for abuse of a corpse. The vehicle he was driving was located Monday outside of Kentucky. The suspect is a white male, 5-7 and, approximately 170 pounds with gray or partially gray hair and brown eyes.
KSP advises anyone who sees Florentine to call law enforcement immediately. Florentine should be considered armed and dangerous.
Both cases remain open.
Anyone with information on Florentine is asked to call KPS Post 2 at 270-676-3313. Callers may remain anonymous.
