On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Lake Barkley Chamber of Commerce is joining Christmas in Kuttawa to bring the community the first-ever Festival of Trees.
Not only is the event a chance to spread holiday cheer, but it will also serve as a fundraiser for participating churches, organizations, clubs, and businesses.
Participating groups will each decorate their own themed tree or wreath, which will be displayed for viewing and voting by the public.
The community will then gather for a live auction of the trees and wreaths, with the money raised for each respective item going back to the donating entity.
Businesses and civic organizations that do not require fundraisers can choose a charity to benefit from the proceeds of their creation.
There will also be homemade baked goods available for purchase at the festival.
Viewing of the trees and wreaths will begin at 2 p.m. that day, with the festivities officially beginning at 3 p.m.
To become a sponsor, register to submit a tree or wreath, or just get more information, contact Lake Barkley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Deb Domke at 270-388-4769 or email@example.com.
