We have a wonderful Heavenly Father, Precious King of all kings named Jesus. Too often, we give little importance to the third member of the God head who is the Holy Spirit. As I read Ephesians 4 verse 30, I wonder if in some ways we are grieving Him by lack of acknowledgement. So such are His wonderful works to us, we are remiss if we do not thank Him often. He is the one who births us a child of God (John 3:6-8). The holy scriptures are of His gift to us (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21).
It seems that when Jesus ascended to the Father and His replacement the Holy Spirit came, three headline tasks were placed upon Him. John 16:7-11 reads, “Never the less I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I go away, for if I go not away the Comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. And when he is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgement of sin because they believe not on me, of righteousness because I go to my Father and you see me no more.”
Of judgement because the prince of the world is judged. If that isn’t a synopsis of the state of affairs of our nation, I do not know anything, or what is. This precious one confirms us that we are children of God. Romans 8:16 and Galatians 4:6-7 reads, “He makes us sons by giving Himself unto our hearts.” He gives us security of our (His) salvation by sealing us forever until the day we are called home to Heaven with Him. Read closely Ephesians 1:13-14, “In when ye also trusted Jesus after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of Promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purified possession, unto the praise of His glory.”
You heard the word of truth, you trusted the gospel of your salvation, you believed unto being born again and sealed with the Holy Spirit. He is the forever guarantee that we are saved forever! Notice I Corinthians 6:19-20 which reads, “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” O precious soul, read carefully: Romans 8:11, “But if the spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead, shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His spirit that dwells in you.”
Romans 8:90 reads, “If any man have not the spirit of God, he is none of His.” O precious soul, hear the wooing of God’s Holy Spirit to draw you to Him. Please call upon Jesus asking Him to forgive and save you! Please don’t grieve Him by not accepting Him as your savior.
