When Jesus was betrayed by Judas and the soldiers came to arrest Him, He went willingly for He could have called 12 legions of angels to rescue Him (Matthew 26:53), but He willingly surrendered as He later willingly gave up His life for us. He said, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay down my life of my own accord.” God so loved that He gave (John 3:16; 10:18).
All the power on Earth and hell could not stop His destiny. So it is with God’s people. He tells us that all power is given unto Him (Matthew 28:18-20).
He gives us powers and protection and the angels of the Lord are encamped round about them that love Him (Psalm 34:7).
Throughout the Word of God, time and time again, we see God’s power helping His people. The kings could not keep the apostles in jail. The keepers of the tomb could not keep the stone from being rolled away. The jailers could not keep Paul and Silas in jail.
The rivers of waters could not keep the Children of Israel in tow. God parted the waters. Water didn’t worry them for the captain of the Lord of Hosts went before them.
Persecution and ridicule could not impede Nehemiah’s building the walls and so we can endure with Him the needless sarcasm we often receive. Chains could not change their choices. They had rather suffer for greater reward (Acts 16:30-31).
Bears can’t bite you, and lions can’t lick you when you walk with God as David did. (I Samuel 17:32-35).
The fires of hell can’t fry you when your trust is intact. Just as Daniel and the three Hebrew children stood strong before kings (Daniel 3:16-25). As the early disciples preached the word, scourging couldn’t silence them (II Corinthians 11:24).
Caleb (Joshua 14:16) said give me this mountain that was promised to me, I may behold, but I believe God’s power to help me.
A walled city of Jericho can’t stop a Joshua who is willing to trust the direction of God more than his own carnal reasoning.
The natural man would have planned military strategy, but God showed him a shout was all he needed (Joshua 6:20). When Gideon fought with God’s help, the multitudes against him didn’t matter (Joshua 6:20).
Goliaths can’t get you and the storms of life can’t scare you. Trials will always trigger your triumph. Mockings won’t seem to matter and your heart can still rejoice in the hurts.
Whales can’t digest you and snake bites won’t make you sick if God is in it (Acts 281-6).
If God be for us, who can be against us? Joshua asked (Joshua 5:13-15). His question, are you for or against us? The captain of the Lord of Hosts is always our rear guard.
