From the pastors, deacons, teachers and members, few are found to be intentional soul winners.

One of the most neglected activities in our churches today is soul winning.
From the pastors, deacons, teachers and members, few are found to be intentional soul winners.
Wouldn’t it make sense if the wisest man who ever lived tells us that we should be soul winners; maybe, just maybe, it would be profitable to us to practice it.
Solomon wrote, “He that winneth souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30).
And also, if the disciple said to be Jesus’ friend tells us, “As my Father hath sent me, even so send you” (John 20:21). David, also called a prophet writes, “He that goeth forth and weepers, bearing precious seed shall doubtless come again with rejoicing bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalm 126: 5-6).
But, if these examples are important, and they are, how much more so is our Lord’s command? Jesus’ commission to us is to go into all the world and preach the gospel.
A commission is an instruction, command or duty given to a person or a group of people officially charged with a particular function.
How neglected is this passage by churches (Matthew 28:18-20)?
Oh God, forgive us all for being such ingrates to selfishly labor the Gospel in our hearts when the jaws of hell are open wide, receiving those who have not heard or believed?
To accentuate the positive, let’s look how dark placing a negative:
(1) You shall not be witnesses unto me (Acts 1:8).
(2) You shall not go into all the world (Matthew 28:18).
(3) I have not commanded you (Matthew 28).
(4) You are not to go weeping, sowing and bearing (Psalm 126: 5-6). How dark and foreboding these negatives are to we who are born again?
How then do I witness to someone:
First, you have to be saved to give a witness. You can’t give what you don’t have!
The best way a child of God can witness is to simply ask, “Has anyone ever loved you enough to tell you how you can become a child of God?” It is a question that demands an answer.
If they say no, ask them if they would like for you to tell them.
It is a non-threatening way to lead someone to Jesus. It is so far superior than just inviting someone to church.
Dead people in their sins just don’t respond to your invitation.
Lead them to the Lord and share the need of Biblical baptism and church membership.
They have become a part of the family of God and need to be joined to His local boy, the church.
This new year, may we make a pledge to ourselves and God that, by the help of the Holy Spirit, we will show more zeal in soul winning.
“He that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).
