I can’t recall hearing full sermons about my personal preparation for worship. Yet, the inspired scripture is replete with how we should come before Him! I Corinthians 5:8 shares that our worship should be in sincerity and in truth! Before we present our gifts to the Lore, we should present ourselves — II Corinthians 8:5.
What kind of a sacrifice would that involve? Paul the Apostle answers that question for us, ‘I beg you to present yourselves before God a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. And be not confound unto this world, but be ye transformed that you may prove what is the good and acceptable, and perfect Will of God! Separation from worldly affairs seem to no longer be taught from pulpits much anymore, but the necessity is still there! — II Corinthians 6:17-18.
Our devotion on worship led us to several, yet unlimited conclusions.
When wise men worship they return home in a new direction! Verse 12.
True worship shows absolute control and obedience to God —Matthew 2:13. Satan’s plans are failed when true worship is our tunnel vision — Matthew 2:12 and I Corinthians 2:6-8.
When we truly worship everyone around us is affected. Notice the whole countryside was touched. The town, the disciples, the authorities — all were, as also Mary and Joseph. Matthew 2:13
There is no limit how broken in spirit we should be when we come into
His house to worship. Recognize who we are and how great God is! When John saw Jesus on Patmos, he fell at His feet as a dead man. If and when we become, as some tele-evangelist do, too familiar with the Lord, we should remember that He is the Potter and we are the clay.
On Ruth Graham’s tombstone the words, ‘End of Construction’ is written.
Then our corruptible will put on in-corruption and our immortality will be cleaned white as snow! I often tell the church that what I’m going to love more about Heaven than next to being with Jesus, is that I won’t have to be like me anymore!
Let us forget about ourselves, go into His house and worship Him! Jesus Christ is Lord!
