Christians are not a group of people that look like a basket of dried prunes! We are, as we should be, the happiest, most joyful people on earth. And why shouldn’t we be? All of our sins have been forgiven. We have peace with God, the Father in our lives. We have been secured eternally by the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are given all of the fruit of God’s spirit and are as different from the east to the west as those who do not believe and have no hope. The Apostle Paul writes, “If we have hope in the life only we are of all men most miserable.” (I Corinthians 15:19).

We can see the joy of the disciples in Acts 3:8-9. Back in Chapter 2 of Acts, the disciples were so happy they were mistaken for drunks having fun! In the passage (Acts 3:5-9), the healed lame man was leaping and praising God! Joy can be of this world, but you don’t have to act like a worldling! (II Corinthians 6:17-18). Jesus and his disciples were invited to a wedding feast (John 2:1-10). If they were such stick in the mud, they would not have been invited. They were expecting to have a Godly good time!
