The class is a decorative flowerpots class, which will discuss raising combinations of flowers and vegetables in containers. This class will be taught by Melody Metje on Thursday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. in person or by Zoom.

Metje said even if you have no garden space, you can still grow fruits and vegetables in a sunny spot on a deck, porch, sidewalk or balcony. Many of today’s growers have focused on small space gardening or growing great tasting fruits and vegetables in small spaces and containers. There are lots of new compact, dwarf, bush, patio, container varieties available every year.

Today, you can grow almost anything you like in a pot, even corn and watermelons! Join us for a training on how to grow edibles in containers that are beautiful to look at and tasty to eat. A decorative flowerpots class was previously held on May 6.

To register for this class call 270-388-2341 or visit the Lyon County Extension Office, 231 W. Main St., Eddyville.
