There is no word yet on when Eddyville and Kuttawa city halls will open their doors to in-person business amid the coronavirus pandemic, but municipal recreational facilities have or already will be reopening soon.

The City of Eddyville began allowing access to its tennis and basketball courts Monday; however, according to Police Chief Jaime Greene, the playground equipment at Eddyville City Park will not be reopened for use until June 29.

The public pool will not open in 2020.

In Kuttawa, Mayor Barbara Campbell said the city’s park facilities like will not open until after June 29, perhaps in July.

Earlier this spring, the cities closed all of is public facilities in line with COVID-19 directives from Gov. Andy Beshear.

Lee S. Jones Park was never closed by the county and remains open for use.
