The Junior Varsity game Monday between the Lyon County Lyons and the Crittenden County Rockets was cut short due to a time rule.
Eli Baker started the Junior Varsity off pitching for the Lyons. With some help from the field, Baker kept the Rockets from scoring just four batters into the inning.
Turner Hurst, up first to bat singled on a hard ground ball to left fielder Briley Berry. Eli Baker and Payton Williams were walked by Rocket pitcher Tanner Beverly, loading the bases. Luke Gilbert was hit by a pitch sending Hurst home and putting the Lyons on the board.
Berry struck out the next two batters, closing the inning with bases loaded.
The Rockets took the lead 2 -1 in the top of the second with hits from Case Gobin, Brady Belt, and Walker Philips. Baker was eventually able to shut down the hitting streak, striking out Tyler Belt for the final out of the inning. With time down to less than 10 minutes, this would be the Rockets last at bat.
On a two out rally, the Lyons were able to pull off one more sweet victory for the night. Beau Wilsons walk followed by a series of errors allowed Wilson to steal third and eventually home tying the score 2-2. Baker came to the Lyons rescue once again, smashing a fastball into centerfield that sent both runners on the bag, home.
The final score was Lyon County 4, Crittenden County 2.
The Lyons and Lady Lyons claimed a clean sweep over Crittenden County with both the Lyon and Lady Lyons varsity and junior varisty all bringing home the win.
