Brescia University awarded degrees on May 2 during a virtual commencement ceremony, and a Lyon County resident was among the top graduates from the Owensboro college.

Courtney Marie Klueppel of Eddyville earned a bachelor of science in biology with magna cum laude honors, meaning she finished with a grade-point average between 3.7 and 3.89.

Brescia University is a Catholic, liberal arts institution founded in the Ursuline tradition of personal and social transformation through education by the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph in 1950.
