Green officially named

Eddyville Police Chief

Jaime Green was officially named Eddyville Police Chief at Monday's city council meeting. "You couldn't ask for anybody more qualified for the job," said Mayor John Choat in nominating the veteran with almost 19 years on the department. "I think she'd be just what we need as a police chief." Green, 41, who was unanimously approved for the role, had been serving as interim chief since Dec. 1 following the retirement of longtime chief Shane Allison. She becomes the first woman to hold the role with the city and one of only a handful in the state. Green's daughter Morgan pins the police chief emblem to her mother's uniform.
