Kuttawa sewer rehab beginning
The City of Kuttawa is rehabilitating the sanitary sewer main throughout Old Kuttawa.
The city's contractor, Insituform, is repairing aged sewer pipes without digging up neighborhoods.
This process is called cured in-place pipe or slip-lining. The contractor will be lining the insides of the existing sewer mains with a plastic coating, eliminating the need for digging.
The contractor will be notifying households and businesses 24 hours prior to working on a section.
Info Guide published next week
The 2020 Lyon County Information Guide will be published and inserted into next week's issue of The Herald Ledger.
The annual full-color publication is full of essential information for any resident of the county but also for visitors who may be spending a weekend or summer on the lakes. The 48-page guide, a special publication of The Herald Ledger, will be available at the newspaper office.
The Guide will also be distributed to various locations around the county and available for free throughout the year.
Eddyville woman charged following Caldwell wreck
A Lyon County woman was charged in Caldwell County last week with leaving the scene of an accident after reportedly colliding with another vehicle.
According to Princeton Police Chief Chris King, a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Hailey M. Guess, 27, of Eddyville crossed the cente line of Ky. 293 South in Princeton around noon on Jan. 27 and sideswiped a 2015 Ford pickup driven by Christopher M. Oakley, 45 of Princeton.
The wreck caused both vehicles to leave the roadway, but no one was injured.
Guess was southbound, while Oakley was headed north when the collision happened near the junction of Jo Jones Road.
Oakley told police that another vehicle stopped and picked up Guess.
King reports Guess later came to the Princeton Police Department where she was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
