On Friday about 8 p.m., Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies were assisting Kentucky State Police troopers with a checkpoint near the Lyon/Livingston County line near the entrance to Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area when Deputy Sheriff Seth P’Pool arrested Robert P. Greer, 23, of Hampton. Greer, who was driving

a 1998 Dodge Durango,

was alleged to be driving on a license previously suspended on a charge of driving under the influence. P’Pool charged Greer with driving on a DUI-suspended license, first offense; improper registration plate; and failure of owner to maintain required insurance-first offense.

Last Wednesday about 8:15 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Keith Suits conducted a traffic stop on a 2013 Nissan Altima on U.S. 62 West, alleging the vehicle had no illuminated headlamps. The driver, Faith N. Gossum, 21, of Princeton, was alleged to be driving on a suspended operator’s license. She was charged with operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license; display/possession of a cancelled or fictitious license; and failure of owner to maintain required liability insurance, first offense.

Also last Wednesday, at about 7:35 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Joe Witherspoon responded to a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 24 near the 35-mile marker. Ken Coash, 64, of Rantoul, Illinois,

was driving a 2018 Toyota Highlander east on I-24 when a

tire failed on a 2013 Volvo commercial vehicle driven by Greg M. Yeffeth, of Florida. The tire debris impacted the Toyota, damaging it. There were no

injuries reported.
