The Lyon County Fiscal Court held a special called meeting Friday afternoon for a hearing to set the tax rate for the 2019 fiscal year.
The court opted at the meeting to take the compensating tax rate, which allows for bringing in the same amount of revenue as the previous year, plus a small increase for inflation.
Rates passed at the meeting are as follows:
• Real property: 0.11 (11 cents per $100 assessed property)
• Tangible property: 0.16 (16 cents per $100 assessed property)
• Watercraft: 0.10 (10 cents per $100 assessed property; unchanged from previous year)
Members also noted the county does not tax timberland fire protection.
The Lyon County Fiscal Court meets regularly the second Thursday of each month at 1 p.m.
The next meeting will be Sept. 12.
