Farmers Bank and Trust Company is pleased to announce a new strategy for the bank, and even more excited to entrust this opportunity to one of its most valuable and knowledgeable team members.
Elizabeth Watson is being named Chief Deposit/Digital Banking Officer, a role that will involve everything from her existing operational supervisory duties, to becoming the primary customer contact link for the bank's business deposit clients, as well as overseeing the further development of the bank's digital banking services. President Jeff McDaniels stated: "I cannot think of a more qualified person to take on this role. Elizabeth brings a unique combination of in-depth knowledge of our bank's most important operational processes to go along with her naturally outgoing personality.
SVP Elizabeth Watson commented: "I am very excited to be given this new opportunity. My experiences at Farmers Bank have allowed me to work in multiple areas and to see the many advances in the banking industry. I also understand how quickly our industry is changing, and our need to be continuously evolving to meet the needs of our clients. I look forward to assisting many of our business deposit clients much like commercial lenders do with their borrowers."
To allow for this strategic initiative, the bank is also pleased to announce the hiring of Billy Duvall as the bank's incoming Chief Financial Officer. Billy comes to the bank after serving in the same capacity with the former Heritage Bank in Hopkinsville, a role he had filled for the last 18 years prior to that bank's recent acquisition by First Financial Bank of Terre Haute, Ind. President McDaniels commented: "We are extremely fortunate to be able to bring in somebody with Billy's experience and expertise. When Billy started with Hopkinsville Federal, they were a $140 million savings bank; and he leaves them subsequent to their recent sale as a $930 million institution."
Billy is married to Wendy Duvall, principal at Hopkinsville Middle School, and the couple have three children; Tori Beth Hunt, a registered nurse at Blanchfield Army Hospital at Ft. Campbell; Madison Duvall, a University of Louisville Dental School student; and John Duvall, a freshman at the University of Kentucky.
