A Caldwell County native returns to a leadership position in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KyTC) following his appointment last week by Gov. Andy Beshear.

Mike Hancock, a native of Princeton, will be deputy secretary for the Transportation Cabinet, the agency he ran as commissioner under the new governor's father, former Gov. Steve Beshear.

Hancock previously had a 40-year career at KyTC, where his responsibilities included preparation of the cabinet's biennial road plan from 1990 to 2016.

His background is in rural and urban transportation planning and transportation program management, and he held several executive and leadership roles during his previous tenure.
