Lyon County Water District Board of Directors is meeting this morning (Wednesday) to interview candidates for superintendent of the utility. Earlier this month, longtime Superintendent Dixie Cayce announced his retirement effective at the end of this month.

The board is meeting in special session at 8 a.m. at the district office in Kuttawa to consider applicants for the position held by Cayce since 2013. The discussion or interview portion of the meeting will be closed to the public, but any action taken on hiring a new manager of the rural water utility will be made in open session.

The superintendent leads operations of the water district to serve approximately 2,600 customers and oversees 312 miles of distribution lines. The utility does not produce its own water, but buys primarily from the Princeton Water and the City of Kuttawa.
