Shellie Woodson Oliver, 94 of Eddyville died Thursday, April 30, 2020, at his home.
He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist, until his health prevented him from attending. He served there as deacon for 60 years and had at times served as the song leader. He had been employed at Dunbar and Sullivan Dredging Co. as a foremen. He was also a lifelong farmer.
Oliver is survived by two sons, Jackie (Susan) Oliver and Bobby Oliver, both of Eddyville; a daughter-in-law, Faye Oliver; three grandchildren, T. J. Oliver, Kamisha Lane and Jackie Woodson Oliver Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Katie Lane and Alex James Oliver; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Mae Hall Oliver; his second wife, Thelma Hopper Oliver; his parents, Clyde and Stella Jackson Oliver; a son Jimmy Oliver; and three brothers, Robert Oliver, Jim Oliver and Wylie Oliver. Graveside services will be private with burial in the Cedar Hill cemetery. Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
