Thomas Grant White, 101, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at Rivers Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa, not far from the site of the business he successfully operated for decades.

He was born Nov. 29, 1918, to Tom and Annie White on their farm in the New Bethel community. He lived on that family farm all of his life. He married Thelma Louise Cash, daughter of Littleton and Effie Cash, also of the New Bethel community, Nov. 13, 1937. Together, they raised a family and operated the family farm and several businesses, including Thomas White & Sons Auction and Realty. The Whites traveled much of the world. He gave his life to Christ as a young man at New Bethel Baptist Church. He and Louise worshipped and served the church throughout their lives together.

Thomas leaves behind five sons, Dr. Jerrell (Connie) White, Kim (Kelma) White, Grady (Sandra) White and Cash (Terrie) White, all of Eddyville, and Todd (Robin) White of Scottsville; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, and his parents and siblings.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville. Interment in New Bethel Cemetery will follow the service.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
