The word means arising from the dead. The doctrine is taught both in the old and new testaments. Job of old taught it (Job 19: 25-27). Lazarus experienced it. (John 11:2 3-44). The apostle Paul spoke clearly about it. (I Corinthians 15: 12-56) and (I Thessalonians 4: 13-28).
Not all of us die to be resurrected, but will be changed from this mortal body (I Corinthians 15:51). There will be those who have died, who have received Jesus as Savior, whose physical body went to the grave, but will be united with them when Jesus comes back fro his own. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
What glorious promise that as soon as we pass from physical life we have a new body, flying away on angel airlines first class. (Luke 16: 22). To be aware of God’s promised blessings is joy unspeakable and full of glory! II Corinthians 5:1-8 reads, “For we know that if our earthly house (our body) of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan (sigh), earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from Heaven. If so be that being clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that wroght (prepared) us for the selfsome thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Holy Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight). We are confident I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Will the circle be unbroken in our families: Only if those who have not received Jesus as their savior! Carefully read this and hear God’s Holy Spirit speak to you! Romans 10: 9-10, “That if thou shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart, you shall be save, for with the heart you believe unto righteousness, but with your mouth, confession is made unto salvation!
