In the earlier devotion we saw where the Word of God said He is coming. He tells us that surely He will come quickly (Revelation 22:20-22). He will come with a great sound! (I Corinthians 15:52) (II Peter 3:10). Signs pointing to Biblical happenings will take place! (Matthew 24:3-12). God’s Holy Spirit will and does speak to our hearts preparing us for the glories of Heaven! (Romans 8:16-17). Old Testament stories confirm His coming and our being taken out. Enoch being translated; Noah being shut into the ark; Lot being spared from Sodom and Issac coming down from the mountain (Genesis 22) ring joy bells in our heart awaiting the shout!

What then are we to do until He does come for the redeemed? I cannot exhaust the list, but will give us enough to last until He comes.

We are to remain faithful — Hebrews 10:25. In this period when there is a great falling away, we are to increase our attendance to God’s house! Doing anything and every thinking noodle-brained idea you consider to be worship instead of assembling yourself together is unscriptural and places you in a position to be chastened of God! (Hebrews 12:6).

Next, as a child of God, we are to observe the ordinances of the church. He tells us (Scripture — I Corinthians 11:24-26) to do this so as to remember his broken body and shed blood. We are to perpetually until He comes!

Continuing on till He comes, we are to love one another. Sometimes there is a difference in liking one another and loving one another. You can love someone without liking their actions, but are commanded to love past liking them. (John 13:34-45; Matthew 22:31-40; I Thessalonians 3:11-12).

Isn’t it interesting to notice (John 13:34-35) that the world recognizes us as being children of God, not by how much we do for Him, or say we do for Him, but by how much we show our love for each other?

Until He comes, Keep your eyes on the Eastern Skies!
