This passage reveals two kinds of people, believers and unbelievers. The believer who has the Son has life, and the unbeliever who have not the Son does not have life. John 3:18 tells us there are two that are judged. They are condemned or not condemned. It reads, “He that believeth on Him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

John 3:36 mentions two other classes, those who have everlasting life, and those who shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth in him. In these verses, we see choices, two choices. One is to choose life and the other is not to choose life and be forever separated from the free gift of salvation to him who believes.

John 3:16, most people’s favorite verse shouts out, “I so intensely love you that I sent my only born Son to be sacrificed on Calvary to take away all your sins.” When Jesus was on the cross with both arms stretched wide, He said, “I love you this much!”
