The Lyon County Lady Lyons had everything working last Monday, winning big over Crittenden County, 10-4. In the first inning, the Lady Lyons got their offense started with Calista Collins doubling on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Crittenden County tied things up when Matthia Long singled, scoring one run.

The Lady Lyons pulled away from good when Collins and Sydney Melton hit back-to-back homers in the third inning to put Lyon up 3-1.

Lyon County notched five runs in the fourth inning. The Lady Lyons’ big inning was driven by singles from Melton, Kaelyn Conger, Gracen Wynn and Hadlie Butler.

Conger was in the pitcher’s circle for Lyon County. The right-handed senior lasted all five innings, allowing five hits and two runs, striking out six and only walking one.

Lyon County racked up 16 hits in the game. Butler, Rachel Coursey, Wynn, Collins, Katelyn Dykes, Conger and Melton all collected multiple hits for the Lady Lyons. Butler went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Lyons in hits.

The Lady Lyons season improved to 7-6. The Lady Rockets dropped to 2-4 after a two-game winning streak.
