Crittenden County put the Lady Lyons away for the second time this season, 60-44 in the Lyons very own Jason White gymnasium last Tuesday. The Lady Rockets are now 4-0 in the district and 7-0 in the region, earning them a top 3 spot next to Henderson and Hopkins County Central.

The Lady Rockets doubled a 6-point first quarter lead to a 32-20 lead going into half time. The Lady Lyons trailed by double digits for the majority of the second quarter. A basket from Calista Collins had the Lady Lyons within 8, 18-26 with 2:26 left in the second half.

Things didn’t get much better in the third quarter for Lyon County as Crittenden built a 21-point lead midway through the quarter. The Lady Lyons managed to cut the lead back 49-32 going into the fourth quarter.

Two buckets from Lily Perry followed by a short jumper from Rose Smith prompted a Crittenden County timeout. Piper Cotham’s basket closed the gap to single digits, 40-49 with 2:42 left to play.

Calista Collins led the Lady Lyons with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Rose Smith added 14 points and 7 assists.
