Bruce A Hobgood, 75, of Eddyville, and formerly of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Bruce was born in Evansville, Indiana, on February 2, 1946, to the late JD and Margareth (Korb) Hobgood.
Bruce was a 1964 graduate of North High School where he began his education in tool and die making. Bruce turned that knowledge into a career with over 40 years of experience. He spent his lifetime collecting knives
and guns and was always working on a project. After retirement, Bruce enjoyed spending time scroll saw woodworking and working in his yard. He loved antique cars, hot rods, motorcycles, and spending time with his many friends. Bruce was a proud member of the Daylight Masonic Lodge and a lifetime member of the Methodist faith.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Nancy J. (Martin) Hobgood of Eddyville; daughter, Lisa Pearson (Patrick); son, Jeff Hobgood (Holly), both of Newburgh, Indiana; brother, Gene Hobgood (Sandra); grandchildren, Allie Bethe (Ricky) and Raymond Pearson III; great-grandchildren, Jo and Colten Bethe; sisters-in-law, Mary Hobgood and June Sandefur; brother-in-law Michael Martin (Suzanne); his beloved dog, Blue; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Hobgood.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held as a picnic party with music, beer, and laughter on beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Jeff’s home.
