There are several exciting opportunities for students to get involved at Lyon County.

The following three clubs will meet at the Lyon County Extension office. People can call 270-388-2341 to register.

On Monday, Oct. 17, the LEGO club will be meeting. This club is open to students in grades four through eight and will run from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, the 4-H cooking club will meet. There will be two separate meetings. Fourth- and fifth-grade students will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; sixth- through eighth-grade students will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

On Monday, Oct. 24, the first meeting of the junior Master Gardener Club will be held. This meeting will run from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. While the club is targeted at those in grades three through five, both older and younger students are welcome to attend.

The Extension Office will also be hosting a make your own piggy bank contest during the month of October. Students in Kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to create their own piggy bank and drop it off along with the entry form at the extension office by Nov. 1.
