The Lyon County Lady Lyons meet in the circle to talk things over in their loss to Union County.

The Lady Lyons fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-4 loss to the Union County Bravettes on Tuesday night, March 14 in Morganfield.

After leading 1-0 in the first inning, Union County used a big third inning to take the 8-0 lead. Union put up three more runs in the bottom of the fourth on Lyon County errors to take the 11-0 lead.

The Lady Lyons finally got on the board with four runs in the fifth inning. Brenna Breitrick scored on a Bravette error, followed by Lauren Davis, who doubled in a run. Courtney Collins and Lilly Perry each followed with RBI singles to finish off the powerful inning, trimming the lead 11-4.

Union retaliated, scoring three more runs in the bottom of the inning to end the game in just five innings on a mercy rule. Lyon totaled seven fielding errors in the loss.

Peyton Jenkins started in the circle to earn the win for the Bravettes, allowing four runs and two earned on six hits, striking out four while only walking two.

Perry threw the first three innings for the Lady Lyons, allowing eight runs on six hits, walking three and striking out zero. Destiny Casey tossed the final two innings, allowing six runs on five hits.

Collins led the Lady Lyons offense. She went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
