The Lyon County Lady Lyons celebrated senior night with a 61-49 win over Caldwell County on Saturday night, Feb. 4 in Eddyville.

Lyon County limited Caldwell County to just five first quarter points as an 11-0 run put the Lady Lyons ahead 21-5, going into the second quarter.

With Lyon pressure down low, the Lady Tigers resorted to outside shots to trim the Lady Lyons’ lead. A pair of 3-pointers from Medeline Thomas and Tink Clark cut the lead at 29-13 with just over four minutes left in the first half. A three from Ella DeFew got the lead out to as much as 17, 32-15 before Clark fired off back-to-back baskets for the Lady Tigers. Courtney Collins finished off her double-digit half with two put-back shots to give Lyon County the 38-20 lead at the half.

An 8-0 run by the Lady Tigers put Caldwell County as close as 40-28, but Lyon County retaliated with a 10-0 run to push it back to a more comfortable 50-28. A 3-pointer from Lilly Perry near the buzzer made it a 54-36 game in favor of the Lady Lyons.

Caldwell County limited the Lady Lyons to just seven points in the fourth quarter as a late 6-0 run trimmed the final margin to 61-49.

Clark led all scorers with 22 points. AJ Hollowell was the only other Lady Tiger in double digits with 10 points. KeDarriah Thompson led Caldwell County’s rebounding efforts with 10 rebounds.

Collins topped the Lyons with 15 points. Lexi Holland finished with 11, while Trinity Taylor had 10 and Perry added nine.
