Greg Greene, a member of Eddyville City Council, has filed to run for mayor of Eddyville. Current Mayor John Choat will not be seeking reelection. Greene is the only candidate to have filed for the mayoral position.

“I believe there is no greater place in Kentucky to live, work, attend school and raise a family,” Greene said in his announcement about his candidacy on Facebook. “I pledge to you as your mayor we will keep the city government transparent and progressive,” he continued. “We will always have an open door policy for our citizens.”

Greene shared that he hopes to meet and talk with voters about their concerns and ideas for the city.

His candidacy leaves a vacancy on the city council. All other current members have filed for reelection: Tammy R. Stone, Michael Greene, Leigh Ann Conger, Jerry L. Peek and Julie Wadlington. Two newcomers have also filed for city council: Stephanie A. Wagers and Judith T. “Judi” Stone.

Current Kuttawa Mayor Barbara Campbell is the only mayoral candidate to file for the city of Kuttawa. Current council members Sandra Stark, Skyla Jenkins Grief, Michael Hutchcraft, Tom Simpson, Kimberly Ashley Clapp and Page Green have filed for reelection. Newcomers H. Wayne Breedlove, Mark Hatcher and Edwin Jones have also filed.

This is how the nonpartisan ballot will stand unless a write-in candidate chooses to file.
