Poll worker Kenny Martin has become a familiar face at the Lyon County library polling location each Election Day. This year, he helped voters feed their ballots into the machine and handed out stickers.

Lyon County’s turnout in the 2023 primary election on Tuesday, May 16 was 18.3%, according to election officials.

Governor

Democrat: 516 total votes

  • Geoffrey M. “Geoff” Young: 8% (41 total votes)
  • Peppy Martin: 6% (31 total votes)

Beshear won the Democratic race statewide with 91% of the votes.
