• On Sunday, Nov. 13, around 4:30 p.m., Sheriff Brent White answered a medical assistance call on Mayhugh Road in the southern portion of the county. The sheriff’s office said that, after assisting Lyon EMS, he saw Brett M. Whitney, 33, of Eddyville, on the property. Whitney was later charged with criminal trespassing — second-degree and cited to Lyon District Court.

• On Monday, Nov. 14, around 5:15 p.m., Deputy David Carroll was dispatched to a single-vehicle collision on I-24. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed a 2020 Toyota Highlander was eastbound on I-24 around the 46-mile marker when it collided with a deer in the roadway. The sheriff’s office also said the driver, Edward Turbeville, 61, of Nashville, Tennessee, was seat belted and not injured in the collision.

• On Monday, Nov. 14, around 7:45 p.m., Deputy Carroll was dispatched to a single-vehicle collision on I-24. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed a 2020 Mercedes Benz was westbound on I-24 around the 50-mile marker when it collided with a deer in the roadway. The sheriff’s office said the driver, Sheila Wulff, 66, of Naples, Florida, was seat belted and not injured in the collision.

• On Tuesday, Nov. 15, around 9:50 a.m., Sheriff White was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision in Kuttawa at the Huck’s Travel Center. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Milo Hachtel, 63, of Herndon, backed into a 2012 Chrysler 200 owned by Daniel Harris, 61, of Eddyville. No injuries were reported, according to the sheriff’s office.

• On Tuesday, Nov. 15, around 11:30 a.m., Deputy Lori Francis charged Joseph L. Owen, 37, of Fredonia, with a McCracken District Court bench warrant on criminal mischief — first-degree, according to the sheriff’s office. He was to remain at the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex until being transferred to McCracken County.

• On Wednesday, Nov. 16, around 11 a.m., Sheriff White received the 15th and 16th report of vandalism to mailboxes. The sheriff’s office said the incidents have occurred on the following roadways: KY 93S, KY 293, KY 730E, KY 3305, US 641N and Rube Adams Road. • On Thursday, Nov. 17, around 8:45 p.m., Deputy Jeremy Hillyard assisted Kentucky State Police and other first responder agencies with a single-vehicle injury collision on KY 293, which had resulted in a fatality, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office said the collision remained under investigation by state police.

• On Friday, Nov. 18, around 8:45 a.m., Chief Deputy Sam Adams charged Trinadad Wilford, 54, of Eddyville, with theft by deception, according to the sheriff’s office. She was summoned to Lyon District Court regarding the matter.

• On Friday, Nov. 18, around 11:30 a.m., Chief Deputy Adams answered an identity theft complaint. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed a Lyon County citizen reported someone used his bank credit card and personal information to purchase an electronic device. The item was shipped to a Florida address. The investigation is continuing, according to the sheriff’s office.

• On Saturday, Nov. 19, around 1:35 a.m., Deputy Carroll and Kuttawa Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3000 block of KY 295 North. The sheriff’s office said that, upon arrival of Deputy Carroll, he could not get anyone to respond and there was a car in the driveway of the home. He kicked in the front door of the residence and searched for anybody in the home, according to the sheriff’s office. Before he could finish searching the home, he was forced to exit after the flames pushed him out. The sheriff’s office said family members were later located at another residence unharmed. The home was a total loss, despite the efforts of fire fighters, according to the sheriff’s office.
