• On Monday, Feb. 20, around 10:38 p.m., Deputy David Carroll responded to a single-vehicle collision on US 62 East. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed Josh Travis, 41, of Dawson Springs, was driving a 2020 Dodge eastbound on US 62 when a deer entered his travel path. Travis was unable to avoid the collision, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported.
• On Tuesday, Feb. 21, around 5:06 p.m., Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a single-vehicle collision on KY 818 North. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed Edna Blake, 69, of Eddyville, was driving a 2017 Nissan southbound on KY 818 North when several deer entered her travel path. Blake was unable to avoid the collision with one of the deer, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported.
• On Wednesday, Feb. 22, around 5:39 p.m., Deputy Aaron O’Leary and Chief Deputy Adams responded to a single-vehicle collision on KY 818 South near the intersection of KY 730 East. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed Jonathan R. Reiben, 51, of Drummonds, Tennessee, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck, with a car hauler trailer in tow and a Jeep tied down to the trailer.
The sheriff’s office said the driver apparently dropped a wheel off the shoulder before losing control and striking several road signs and a mailbox before colliding with a ditch and ending in a field area. The sheriff’s office said Deputy O’Leary arrested Reiben on the following offenses: reckless driving, failure to maintain required insurance — first offense, possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle and DUI — first offense. Reiben was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
• On Thursday, Feb. 23, at 9:23 a.m., Deputy Lori Francis served an indictment warrant on Carly Lainhart, 23, of Fredonia. The sheriff’s office said Lainhart was charged with a Hamilton County, Ohio, warrant on possession of fentanyl. She was being held in the Ross-Cash Correctional Complex pending extradition proceedings in Lyon District Court, according to the sheriff’s office.
• On Thursday, Feb. 23, at 3:13 p.m., Deputy Francis served a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant on Jamison Fryer, 26, of Charlotte, North Carolina. According to the sheriff’s office, Fryer was charged with failure to appear in court and extradited from the North Carolina Department of Corrections back to Kentucky.
• On Thursday, Feb. 23, around 8 p.m., Deputy O’Leary responded to a two-vehicle collision on I-24 at the I-69 interchange. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Nathan Camper, 47, of Greenville, was eastbound on I-24 when he collided with a 2009 Dodge driven by Shelia Hardrick, 50, of Princeton, as both vehicles were merging onto the Exit 42 off-ramp. No injuries were reported, according to the sheriff’s office.
• On Friday, Feb. 24, around 8:20 a.m., Sheriff Brent White responded to a two-vehicle collision at the Huck’s Travel Center in Kuttawa. The sheriff’s office said investigation revealed an unidentified Jeep hit a parked and unoccupied 2015 Nissan owned by Gregory Fischer, 39, of Evansville, Indiana. The female driver and male passenger of the Jeep fled the scene after colliding with the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. The incident was captured on surveillance video. If anyone has information about the identity of the driver, passenger, or vehicle involved in this incident, they are asked to call 270-388-2311.
• On Friday, Feb. 24, around 2:35 p.m., Lyon County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence on KY 1271 at request of the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services for a welfare check. The sheriff’s office said investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at the home, and that Lee A. Adams, 30, of Kuttawa, was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance — first-degree, first offense (drug unspecified), illegal possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia-possession. Adams was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. The sheriff’s office said DCBS assisted in removing the children from the home. Chief Deputy Adams is continuing the investigation.
