Nell Rose Walker Tapscott, 96, of Princeton, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Baptist Health in Paducah.
Nell was born on April 28, 1925, in Hopkins County to her late parents, Aubrey and Shellie McKinsey Walker. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Princeton, having served at President of the Women’s Missionary Union and was a key driver in the Operation Christmas Child — Shoebox Ministry for Children. Prior to joining First Baptist Church in Princeton, she served alongside her late husband by playing the organ or piano for the various churches he pastored. Nell has a long career in banking for over fifty years as a teller, finishing her career at First Bank & Trust (First Southern) Bank. She was also a member of The Princeton Business and Professional Women’s Club.
She is survived by her son, Tom (Jennifer) Tapscott of Clarksville; one brother, Calvin (Evelyn) Walker of Madisonville; step-grandson, Jason Williams; two nieces, Vicki Walker, Suzy (H. Jon) Heilman; one great-nephew, Nick Heilman; one great-niece, Hannah Heilman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard Tapscott; daughter, Janet Carroll Eastman; brother, Carroll Walker.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home and again Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 10 a.m. until service time at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Dr. Don Mathis officiating and Rev. Vicki Walker assisting.
