With six regular season games still to play and his entire senior year still ahead of him, Lyon County’s Travis Perry hit eight 3-pointers to seize the state’s career 3-point record with 464. Perry’s 29 points propelled the Lyons past district rival Crittenden County 95-50 on Friday night, Feb. 3 in Eddyville. The nights events unfolded in front of Ole Miss Coach Brock Morris.

Brady Shoulders scored 10 of his 20 points in the first quarter as Lyon County shot out to a 26-13 lead in the first quarter. Jack Reddick led the Lyon attack in the second quarter, heading off an 18-2 run. A three at the buzzer from Travis Champion would cut the Lyons’ lead 53-26 at the half.

Lyon County hit eight shots from long range in the third quarter. Reddick with three and Perry with five that would earn him the official new career record as the Lyons doubled the Rockets in scoring, 26-13.

The 40-point lead, 79-49 by the fourth quarter, prompted a running clock to end things early. With the trio of Shoulders, Perry and Reddick all in double digits, the Lyon reserves would take over the Lyon offense for the final eight minutes. Lyon posted 12 points from the bench in the fourth quarter to cap off a 95-50 win. The win secures a No. 1 seed in the Fifth District tournament.

Reddick finished the night with 24 points for the Lyons, while Shoulders added 20. Champion hit four 3-pointers to finish the night with 18 points and six rebounds. Preston Morgeson also hit double figures with 16 points for the Rockets.
